Although I have been quiet lately on my blog, I have been working on a few projects. One of which is an SMS alert system for a friends pump shed for his farm.
This system is pretty straight forward and not overly complicated, however there were some requirements that made the code a bit tricky to sort out. Uses an Arduino UNO and an GPRS Shield. Total cost around AU$150. Anyway, here is the final result.

Hi
My name is Sias Steyn and we are farming fish in Cairns (QLD).
I have 2 flow switches that need to send me a sms warning when the pumps switch off.
I am struggling to find a device and at an acceptable cost that do just what you have designed here.
I have found this device called "SMS Alert with flow switch" in the Netherlands:
http://www.aqua-forte.com/brand-products/xclear/sms-alert-with-flowswitch.aspx
I am trying to get hold of the people selling this item and want to find out if they will be willing to ship the product to Australia. I will also need to know if this product can support 3G or 4G SIM cards, because Australia will switch their 2G network of in 2016.
Can you make more of this device that you have made in this blog and can it be 3G or 4 G SIM card compatible? or can you point me in the right direction to find a similar device?
