32" DSI Multitouch Table [Updated]

So now I pretty much have the table completed, and only the finishing touches to go.
I've been away on my honeymoon for 7 weeks and only now just getting back to the multitouch table.

Check out the poorly managed, un-optimised, one-handed filming and demonstration of the table using TouchWorldWind JAVA. =)

TouchWWJ First Test from Paul D'Intino on Vimeo.

I used an old Subwoofer terminal plate to house the power switch and AC plug. =)

I'll be adding more info very soon but for now, here's a couple of pics of what the table looks like...

Cheers!

Hi Paul,

I am looking to build a DSI Multitouch table as well, and yours here looks exactly like what I want from mine.

Is it possible to get the schematics and blueprints for the box construction and part placement, as well as a parts list for everything you put into it?

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew, yes that's what I plan on putting up on the site. So far there's a heap of photos and I'm trying to sort through them...

I'll definitely put some more info/photos up tomorrow...

Thanks very much Paul,

You are truly an inspiration to those of us DIYers.

I want to build one of these tables for running my local Dungeons and Dragons groups on. Let the players interface with the touch screen, allowing me to display full color maps and tokens without having to spend the money on printing full-color maps and tokens. :D

Thanks again!

Andrew

Thanks for the kind words Andrew =)

I'll be adding some more pictures soon as well as trying to explain as much as I can bit-by-bit.

Looking forward to seeing your table when it's ready ;-)

Cheers,

Paul,

I've been looking around the past few days, and have been trying to get an idea as to how to build a "surface pc" I originally found some instructions for building an FTIR with a projector, and then I found a few links including yours for building what I believe is an lcd FTIR. I was hoping I could maybe get some schematics like Andrew had asked for. I'm thinking going the lcd route vs the projector route would be better (and it would look more like Microsofts Milan, like I would it to be, but in the wooden coffee table like you have.

Cheers!

Hi William,

I haven't got any schematics as such, just a bunch of photos at the moment. I'm using the DSI method with an LCD and the results are pretty good.

Check out the other posts i have on the DSI table and you'll see some wood constructions photos. I'll try and add some more info soon...

Cheers,
-Paul
