I removed the CL-Eye drivers that I had installed that kept crashing when I tried to run the CL-Eye Test program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2). Then restarted the system.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3). Installed the older PS3 Eye drivers by AlexP (PS3Eye Camera Setup v3.0.0.0901.exe) &lt;-- Lucky I had this still on my machine!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style:italic;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;***EDIT:&lt;/span&gt; Here is a &lt;a href="http://www.4shared.com/get/y26ehO2_/PS3Eye_Camera_Setup_v3000901.html"&gt;LINK&lt;/a&gt; for the PS3 Driver &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4). Run the test program and Wham! Picture! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5). Installed CCV (I think it was ver1.2 that I had at the time)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6). Downloaded and installed the SurfaceRuntime.msi package from Microsoft&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;7). Downloaded the BSQSimulator (Release 1.1 AnyCPU.rar) and the Driver (Driver_32Bit-64Bit.rar)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;8). Installed the BSQSimulator Driver because I don’t have surface installed on my Windows 8 Drive.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;9). Ran CCV, BSQSimulator - (in Administrator mode) and everything works!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I’d be interested in other peoples experiences so please let me know how you go!&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2783333171411378124-2965401404338686296?l=orionmultitouch.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/feeds/2965401404338686296/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=2783333171411378124&amp;postID=2965401404338686296' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/2965401404338686296'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/2965401404338686296'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/2011/09/windows-8-multitouch-its-here.html' title='Windows 8 &amp; Multitouch - It&apos;s HERE!'/><author><name>Paul D'Intino</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/06018831417959562708</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='28' height='32' src='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/S0Mbl3kYdiI/AAAAAAAAAJk/riGj-AFHUOo/S220/Picture1.png'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://img.youtube.com/vi/w-TJzMoxygk/default.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2783333171411378124.post-7822046821650218835</id><published>2011-04-02T20:13:00.015+11:00</published><updated>2011-07-13T10:58:03.846+10:00</updated><title type='text'>App Scroller 1.1 (BETA) Now Available!</title><content type='html'>&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4zizB__MNC4/TZb10WEtgaI/AAAAAAAAAS8/fiGiGaeAbHQ/s1600/AppScroller1.png"&gt;&lt;img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 254px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4zizB__MNC4/TZb10WEtgaI/AAAAAAAAAS8/fiGiGaeAbHQ/s320/AppScroller1.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590926267054391714" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well as some of you may remember I have been working on an App Scroller based on the original App Loader for Multi-touch Flash applications. With my past experiences in the flat-panel industry I knew this was bad and irreversible. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I stopped with Mutltiouch for a while angry that I never noticed it before, till a mate of mine at Panasonic donated a 32" TX-32LWD500A LCD to me!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So I'm back! No-one had successfully made a fully functioning locket, and after searching some forums I found that many people wanted them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Modifying some plans I found on the forum, I set out to make one and completed it on April 7th 2007 in time for my girlfriend Lisa's birthday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The following document consists of early diagrams and photos of the finished product (before I glued it into place). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Enjoy!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style='text-decoration:underline'&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Download&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href='http://dstats.net/download/http://www.mediafire.com/file/yjgk0zjwz4z/Heart_Locket_Plans.pdf'&gt;Heart_Locket_Plans.pdf&lt;/a&gt; (File Size: 419KB - Downloads: &lt;script type='text/javascript' src='http://dstats.net/dstatsjs.php?file=http://www.mediafire.com/file/yjgk0zjwz4z/Heart_Locket_Plans.pdf'&gt;&lt;/script&gt;&lt;script type='text/javascript'&gt;document.write(dsCounter);&lt;/script&gt;)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2783333171411378124-7741325272265570817?l=orionmultitouch.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/feeds/7741325272265570817/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=2783333171411378124&amp;postID=7741325272265570817' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/7741325272265570817'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/7741325272265570817'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/2010/01/updated-plans-heart-locket-illusionist.html' title='UPDATED PLANS - Heart Locket &apos; The Illusionist&apos;'/><author><name>Paul D'Intino</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/06018831417959562708</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='28' height='32' src='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/S0Mbl3kYdiI/AAAAAAAAAJk/riGj-AFHUOo/S220/Picture1.png'/></author><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2783333171411378124.post-8303528446993038369</id><published>2009-12-17T23:06:00.010+11:00</published><updated>2010-02-24T20:31:50.266+11:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Videos'/><title type='text'>Interactive LED Test 2 - First Of The Modules</title><content type='html'>Ok so it's been a few months since the post on Interactive LED's. Even though I had already made a module and recorded a video, I had not had the time to upload the video or explain the circuit.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;object width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/fNpUkINF-_Q&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/fNpUkINF-_Q&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So below is a picture of the circuit in its most basic form. No LED protection for this simple circuit, however building more modules would require a far better design than the one shown...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold; text-decoration:underline;"&gt;Circuit Explination:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;InfraRed light emmitting from the IR LED transmitter is beamed onto an obstacle (your hand/finger etc.) and reflected onto the IR Receiver (a reverse biased IR LED) which triggers the amplifier to turn on the green LED's.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the circuit I am using an LM324 - Low Power Quad Operational Amplifier. This is due to the fact that the reflected IR creates a small voltage on the receiver (depends on variables however one test I did was around 150-200mV) and approx 16x gain so 2.4-2.6V on the output.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SyokodttcoI/AAAAAAAAAJY/-AQbDuZrJ4Q/s1600-h/circuit1.PNG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 275px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SyokodttcoI/AAAAAAAAAJY/-AQbDuZrJ4Q/s320/circuit1.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416181779456160386" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Being a Quad OP Amp, I had 1 Green LED per output. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Because I only made this module as a "Proof of concept" I have not gone any further with it... Hopefully when I get some time I might come back to this...&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2783333171411378124-8303528446993038369?l=orionmultitouch.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/feeds/8303528446993038369/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=2783333171411378124&amp;postID=8303528446993038369' title='8 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/8303528446993038369'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/8303528446993038369'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/2009/12/interactive-led-test-2-first-of-modules.html' title='Interactive LED Test 2 - First Of The Modules'/><author><name>Paul D'Intino</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/06018831417959562708</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='28' height='32' src='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/S0Mbl3kYdiI/AAAAAAAAAJk/riGj-AFHUOo/S220/Picture1.png'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SyokodttcoI/AAAAAAAAAJY/-AQbDuZrJ4Q/s72-c/circuit1.PNG' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>8</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2783333171411378124.post-445184505987734503</id><published>2009-11-22T09:42:00.011+11:00</published><updated>2010-04-06T08:31:54.981+10:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Videos'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Arduino'/><title type='text'>Arduino &amp; Servo Control Using The Mouse</title><content type='html'>&lt;object width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lFvQRWXX24U&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lFvQRWXX24U&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After the iPhone &amp; Arduino project, I wanted to try some mechanical objects with the Arduino MEGA. This is my first video of the LED-LP (LED-Light Plane) 19" Widescreen multi-touch LCD prototype I am building.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are a total of 40 IR LED's around the LCD panel, a PS3 Eye Webcam mounted behind the LCD module, and tbeta running for the blob detection.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This video is of the tbeta main screen where the raw camera feed and applied filters can be seen. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style:italic;"&gt;(NOTE: There are some glitches/false inputs being detected and that is due to reflection of IR from the back acrylic onto the LCD's PCB. I bought 4 of the laser modules, and placement is going to have to be spot on, but it should be OK i think. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The line lens can be replaced with an acrylic rod to maximize angle, but that will be done later if the placement becomes an issue.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please be careful when playing with High Power IR lasers! especially when you're testing them. So, at the moment I am adding improvements to the NASA World Wind multi-touch plugin, and at this stage there still seems to be a rotating issue. As you pull your fingers apart the globe zooms in and the software detects that the fingers are moving away from each other at speed. The problem is that the rotate function is very similar. It is very hard to drag 2 fingers away from each other without rotating them slightly around a central point, hence rotate and zoom seem to be tied. It is something that I will need to debug for some time to get right (otherwise I will remove the rotate function!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also I am currently toying with the idea of Multi-touch Texas Hold'em and a Touch event based BlackJack. The BlackJack doesn't need to be Multi-touch, I just think it would be nice in my AppLoader menu as one of the games ;-)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As more information becomes available I will let you know.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2783333171411378124-6829458041861962863?l=orionmultitouch.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/feeds/6829458041861962863/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=2783333171411378124&amp;postID=6829458041861962863' title='8 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/6829458041861962863'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/6829458041861962863'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/2008/06/long-time-between-posts.html' title='Long time between posts'/><author><name>Paul D'Intino</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/06018831417959562708</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='28' height='32' src='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/S0Mbl3kYdiI/AAAAAAAAAJk/riGj-AFHUOo/S220/Picture1.png'/></author><thr:total>8</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2783333171411378124.post-4406304775713629756</id><published>2008-05-23T10:45:00.006+10:00</published><updated>2008-05-26T11:03:51.418+10:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Download'/><title type='text'>UPDATED - NASA World Wind Plugin</title><content type='html'>When I fully tested the plugin I found that it was all over the place. Supported gestures are single finger drag to spin the globe, pinch and spread to zoom, and two-finger rotate to roll the camera.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold; text-decoration:underline; color:red;"&gt;You’ll need:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* &lt;a href="http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/"&gt;NASA WorldWind 1.4&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* A working installation of &lt;a href="http://nuigroup.com/touchlib/"&gt;touchlib&lt;/a&gt; or &lt;a href="http://reactable.iua.upf.edu/?software"&gt;reacTIVision&lt;/a&gt; (or for testing, &lt;a href="http://reactable.iua.upf.edu/?software"&gt;TUIO Simulator)&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold; text-decoration:underline; color:red;"&gt;To run the plugin:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Copy DanTouchEarthPlugin.dll into your WorldWind 'Plugins' folder, start WorldWind, and use the Plugins menu to load the 'DanTouchEarthPlugin' plugin. Once the plugin is loaded, it will start listening for TUIO events. Next, use touchlib (run OSC.exe) or (easier) the JAVA TUIO_Simulator to generate TUIO events. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please see the original post at NUIGroup &lt;a href="http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/1911/"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt; for more info.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold; text-decoration:underline; color:red;"&gt;Download:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can download a working version from here: &lt;a href="http://nuigroup.com/?ACT=28&amp;fid=17&amp;aid=972_4V7joi86GNy6uOK0yJLy"&gt;DanTouchEarthPlugin.rar &lt;/a&gt; (file size: 10kb)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've tested the plugin using Using OSC + simple-2point.avi and it works very well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The movement is limited but finally a plugin for Nasa WW that I happened to stumble onto while surfing the net! Yay!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;More testing to come!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;NOTE: I have updated this post and download link to refer to the newer one.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please see updated link &lt;a href="http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/2008/05/updated-nasa-world-wind-plugin.html"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SDJwfdSzwyI/AAAAAAAAADM/e6q2yv_9sWY/s1600-h/NASA1.JPG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SDJwfdSzwyI/AAAAAAAAADM/e6q2yv_9sWY/s200/NASA1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202344205308117794" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2783333171411378124-527258059014159131?l=orionmultitouch.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/feeds/527258059014159131/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=2783333171411378124&amp;postID=527258059014159131' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/527258059014159131'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/527258059014159131'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/2008/05/nasa-world-wind-plugin.html' title='NASA World Wind Plugin'/><author><name>Paul D'Intino</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/06018831417959562708</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='28' height='32' src='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/S0Mbl3kYdiI/AAAAAAAAAJk/riGj-AFHUOo/S220/Picture1.png'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://bp0.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SDJwfdSzwyI/AAAAAAAAADM/e6q2yv_9sWY/s72-c/NASA1.JPG' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2783333171411378124.post-3305107966328788841</id><published>2008-05-11T10:47:00.047+10:00</published><updated>2008-10-09T15:53:07.402+11:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='How To'/><title type='text'>How I built ORION mt</title><content type='html'>The ORION mt table has been one of the smoothest/responsive DI (Diffused Illumination) tables that I have built. Below is a video of the ORION mt in it's prototype state. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can view the original post on the NuiGroup forum &lt;a href="http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewreply/8389/"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please see the Showcase post on Nui Group forums &lt;a href="http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/1709/P0/"&gt;here:&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;object width="425" height="355"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hWOj5E7o68c&amp;hl=en"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;param name="wmode" value="transparent"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hWOj5E7o68c&amp;hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here is a short explanation on how it was built.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold; text-decoration:underline;"&gt;Rear Diffused Illumination: DI - The Theory:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Infrared light is shined at the screen from below the touch surface from. A diffuser is placed on the bottom of the touch surface. When an object touches the surface it reflects more light than the diffuser or objects in the background. The extra light is sensed by an Infrared camera. Below are pictures illustrating the effect of DI and also a screenshot an image captured by the camera.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://wiki.nuigroup.com/images/a/a0/Rearditouch.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px;" src="http://wiki.nuigroup.com/images/a/a0/Rearditouch.jpg" border="0" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://wiki.nuigroup.com/images/3/3c/Reardigraphic.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px;" src="http://wiki.nuigroup.com/images/3/3c/Reardigraphic.jpg" border="0" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style:italic;""font-size:10px;"&gt;The above images and text have been extracted from the NUI Group wiki&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold; text-decoration:underline;"&gt;The Box:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Made out of 12mm craft wood (MDF), the box is 710mm(w) x 775mm(l) x 655mm(h). I’ve drawn up a crappy picture in MS Paint to show the layout of the illuminators. (1x 140 IR Leds, 1x 80 IR Leds and a smaller 45 Led illuminator too!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Illuminator number 1 is the 140 IR led I got from a mate. Number 2 is the 80 IR Led I made up, and Number 3 is the 45 Led one.&lt;br /&gt;The purple border represents the physical screen projection size in relation to the illuminators and the box.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The need for more IR light was due to the fact that during the day or close to a IR light source (overhead lights or the sun) the IR that I was generating was not enough to receive clear blobs. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;text-decoration:underline;"&gt;WebCam &amp; Projector Placement:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here are some pictures to illustrate the camera, mirror and projector placements in the ORIONmt. I originally had a camera angle issue where i wanted to place the camera in the middle of the floor facing upwards, however I could not capture the entire screen. To overcome this, I ended up moving the camera to reflect of the 2nd mirror. That way I can capture the entire screen (with overscan)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;See below:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SDoEyU0A3-I/AAAAAAAAADU/pXa94xMrc-c/s1600-h/Camera_Placement.PNG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SDoEyU0A3-I/AAAAAAAAADU/pXa94xMrc-c/s200/Camera_Placement.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204477582006869986" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SDoEy00A3_I/AAAAAAAAADc/ncLdAvVOtnY/s1600-h/Projector_Placement.PNG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SDoEy00A3_I/AAAAAAAAADc/ncLdAvVOtnY/s200/Projector_Placement.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204477590596804594" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have also added a beamer/mirror placement applet that may help with design of your own multi-touch display.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please see below:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://robertpriewasser.com/stuff_projects/programming/rearproject/shockwave/index.html"&gt;Beamer/Mirror Placement Guide Applet&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SCfNTNSzwsI/AAAAAAAAACc/KaCtwHwFVAg/s1600-h/Touchlib+DI+Test1.PNG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SCfNTNSzwsI/AAAAAAAAACc/KaCtwHwFVAg/s200/Touchlib+DI+Test1.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199350024692286146" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SCfcL9SzwwI/AAAAAAAAAC8/bfWCbIgSh7I/s1600-h/IMG00457.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SCfcL9SzwwI/AAAAAAAAAC8/bfWCbIgSh7I/s200/IMG00457.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199366392812651266" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SCfcCNSzwvI/AAAAAAAAAC0/Ptz2Ag9sal8/s1600-h/IMG00459.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SCfcCNSzwvI/AAAAAAAAAC0/Ptz2Ag9sal8/s200/IMG00459.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199366225308926706" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SCfb9tSzwuI/AAAAAAAAACs/X0fSBHA3rpg/s1600-h/IMG00458.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SCfb9tSzwuI/AAAAAAAAACs/X0fSBHA3rpg/s200/IMG00458.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5199366147999515362" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;text-decoration:underline;"&gt;IR Illuminators - detail&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 140IR LED Illuminator was originally bought by my mate from ebay, and I found one similar on ebay (after typing in the search bar of ebay "140 IR Led"), so here are some specs on it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SFGyXpspDjI/AAAAAAAAADk/avgI6cuV9po/s1600-h/140IRLedIlluminator.PNG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/SFGyXpspDjI/AAAAAAAAADk/avgI6cuV9po/s200/140IRLedIlluminator.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211142363244203570" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Built-in sensor (which I taped over)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Illuminating range: Detecting range is 80m, viewing range is 60m (outdoor) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Definition Consumed power: 18W &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Wave length : 850nM &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Structure: All weather aluminum and reinforced glass &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Power: DC 12V 1000mA &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Because of the narrow beam of this IR illuminator, I was getting a large hotspot on the glass. I have modified the code slightly to allow for a background image of your choice to be displayed. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Click on the link to download: &lt;a href="http://www.users.on.net/~pdintino/AppLoader.rar"&gt; AppLoader.rar&lt;/a&gt; (Size: 3.33Mb)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style:italic;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Screenshots:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a target='_blank' href='http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/2194/os1il1.png'&gt;&lt;img src='http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/2194/os1il1.th.png' border='0'/ hspace="10";ALIGN="middle"&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;a target='_blank' href='http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/2176/os2nd6.png'&gt;&lt;img src='http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/2176/os2nd6.th.png' border='0'/ hspace="10";ALIGN="middle"&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;a target='_blank' href='http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5203/os3xz4.png'&gt;&lt;img src='http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/5203/os3xz4.th.png' border='0'/ hspace="10";ALIGN="left"; &gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style:italic; font-size: 10px;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A long Press (5 seconds) will activate the pop-up menu to allow you to exit the program by pressing 'x'...see above pics &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have also written this easy guide for anyone who wants to make there own.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before i start, I have included the files needed to run your own AppLoader so don't worry. :-) Also, I am an absolute beginner at flash so if I can do it, so can you! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have also included the source files if you wanna make your own changes too :) ... I didn't write this program (and I can't find out who did - it's not in the readme on the SVN), but it's really easy to modify so here goes...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;color:red"&gt;Getting Started:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1) Download the attached file below.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2) Once you have extracted the files, they should be added in your [b]'deploy'[/b] directory (e.g. &lt;span style=" color:green"&gt;C:\Multitouch\touchlib\AS3\src\deploy&lt;/span&gt; and make sure that the global flash security settings link to the swf or folder.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(I selected my entire directory &lt;span style="color:green;"&gt;(/src)&lt;/span&gt; and added it to the site to make sure that any program I put in the &lt;span style="color:green;"&gt;'src'&lt;/span&gt; or &lt;span style="color:green;"&gt;'deploy'&lt;/span&gt; directory will run without an issue. )&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;color:red"&gt;Adding Apps / Editting AppLoader:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So now I'm gonna try and explain how to edit it... There is a script inside the AppLoader.as file that enables custom background images when activated. I have already done this and given you the &lt;span style="color:blue;"&gt;AppLoaderBack.exe&lt;/span&gt; file for that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Background image can be changed at any time by changing the file &lt;span style="color:green;"&gt;"\deploy\www\img\apploaderBack.jpg"&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Applications can be added by editing the file &lt;span style="color:green;"&gt;"\deploy\www\xml\applist.xml"&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I edited the applist.xml file and added the name of the program I wanted. Under the Category in the applist.xml file you will find the name of the program (e.g. WaterRipples) and the description to be displayed (Water Ripples for fun). The AppLoader will then look for the file “WaterRipples.swf” in the &lt;span style="color:green;"&gt;‘deploy’ &lt;/span&gt; directory to try and load it when the load button is pressed. (NOTE: AppLoader only loads .swf files).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you change the ‘name’ in the applist.xml file, then you need to change the .swf name in the deploy directory.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here’s a sample of my applist.xml file:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:Courier;font-size: 12px; "&gt;&lt;div id="photolayer" style="z-index: 1; left: 5px; top: 50px; width: 530px; &lt;br /&gt;height: 370px; background-color:WhiteSmoke; color:blue; border: 1px solid lightgrey; visibility: visible"&gt; &amp;lt;app&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt; &amp;lt;name&amp;gt;WaterRipples&amp;lt;/name&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt; &amp;lt;body&amp;gt;Water Ripples for fun&amp;lt;/body&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt; &amp;lt;/app&amp;gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sometimes if though you do this, the app still wont load! I’ve found that a different build of the app (.swf) may fix this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To get the screenshots and thumbnails to work, you’ll need to put the files under &lt;span style="color:green;"&gt;"\deploy\www\img\apps"&lt;/span&gt; They are (E.g. “WaterRipples_screenshot.jpg” and “WaterRipples.png")&lt;br /&gt;You must make the name the same as the name listed in the applist.xml file for the images to be displayed. The Thumbnail size default is 72x72 and the Screenshot file is 395x295.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I’m running 2 types of Ripples. One is the default (Blue screen - ripples.swf) and the other is called WaterRipples (by wSatori), which can be customizable to display a video background, pebbles, still images...etc. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can find it here:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/1471/"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;wSatori's WaterRipples&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2783333171411378124-6957308315145876681?l=orionmultitouch.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/feeds/6957308315145876681/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=2783333171411378124&amp;postID=6957308315145876681' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/6957308315145876681'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2783333171411378124/posts/default/6957308315145876681'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://orionmultitouch.blogspot.com/2008/05/app-loader-user-background-image-plus.html' title='App Loader (+ User Background Image) Plus Guide!'/><author><name>Paul D'Intino</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/06018831417959562708</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='28' height='32' src='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_D1WENc4oxsg/S0Mbl3kYdiI/AAAAAAAAAJk/riGj-AFHUOo/S220/Picture1.png'/></author><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2783333171411378124.post-5337336451420247022</id><published>2008-04-30T15:05:00.009+10:00</published><updated>2008-05-07T10:32:17.110+10:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Videos'/><title type='text'>DI Multi-touch Test 1 - ORION v2</title><content type='html'>This blog has been designed for a Multi-touch DI setup I made called ORION mt.
